RealSim Systems was founded by Dr. Hasson, a respected pioneer of laporoscopic surgery. Dr. Hasson holds 52 patents and has invented several related medical devices that are used worldwide.

Dr. Hasson has published numerous videos and articles in medical journals, and lectured throughout the world. He founded the Society for the Advancement of Contraception (SAC), an international organization dedicated to raising contraception standards. He has also served as a Director of several other professional public services organizations, including the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL). He currently serves as the President of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS) and President of the Accreditation Council of Gynecological Endoscopy (ACGE).

Dr. Hasson maintained a private practice in Chicago for 30 years. Dr. Hasson was Assistant Professor at Northwestern University from 1976-1981 and Associate Professor at Rush Medical College from 1981-1995. He was the Chairman of OB/GYN at Grant Hospital from 1981-1995 and served as Director of the Gynecologic Endoscopy Center and Chairman of the Division of OB/GYN at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL from 1996-2003. He is a Clinical Professor of OB/GYN at the University of Chicago and a Volunteer Faculty at the University of New Mexico.

Dr. Hasson retired from clininal practice in 2003 to devote his time to simulation and teaching.
