  • Two prospective studies were conducted to measure degree of improvement of laparoscopic skills with the LTS2000 using objective pre- and post-training assessments.
    • University Hospital (Keil) and University affiliated community hospital (Chicago)
    • Studies included 15 attending physicians and 24 residents (39 total).

  • The average increase in skill score after training was 38.4%
  • Prior to training only 5 of 39 physicians scored 75% or higher.
  • After training 34 of 39 scored 75% or higher.
  • Conclusion: Training with the LTS2000 significantly improves laparoscopic skills; Eekhout scoring system did not allow for relative maximum scores.
